A small white ball is added, spinning in the opposite direction of the turning wheel. The dealer then starts to spin the roulette wheel. At that point, no more bets can be placed, and the dealer will go to extra lengths to reinforce that rule.
The croupier then calls out “no more bets” and waves their hand across the table. Players make wagers on their lucky number before each spin.
